'Shaggy Ink Cap' is a 2 layer original linocut print. Taking a closer look down among the leaf litter in the forest is where you'll find these magical looking funghi. Amongst the micro moths and the thorns these caps disintegrate their gils to release their spores. This liquid used to be boiled up with cloves and water to make an ink.
 
This print has been created with hand mixed oil based relief ink and has been printed onto Okiwara Select; a handmade Japanese washi paper. This paper has a beautiful fibrous texture and a deckle edge. The dimensions of the print are 19cm x 17cm. The dimensions of the paper are 30cm x 25cm.
 
Each image is hand printed and is therefore completely original. The charm of this technique is the individuality that it produces in texture and colour and will always be limited to a small print run.
