‘Arabica Propagation’ is a limited edition hand printed linocut artwork. Propagation refers to the process of taking cuttings from a plant and encouraging them to develop roots in order to grow a new plant. This image is part of a collection of propagation images created due to my fascination with the process. The arabica, or ‘Coffea Arabica’, plant is the dominant cultivar used for growing coffee globally and is believed to have been the first to be cultivated for this use.

This print has been created with hand mixed water based relief ink printed onto Somerset Satin 100% cotton, acid free 250gsm paper. This paper has a beautiful buttery soft finish and a deckle edge. The dimensions of the print are 21.5cm x 15cm.

Each image is hand printed at home and is therefore completely original. The charm of this technique is the individuality that it produces in texture and colour and will always be limited to a small print run.
